Be a counselor-in-training (cit)
CITs (formerly called “Junior Staff”) are youth with a strong Christian testimony, commonly aged 15-17 years, who volunteer one or more weeks of their summer vacation to come and serve at “Camp Patt”. Lots of things that happen at camp each week are made possible by these older, more experienced campers who are willing to serve God in camping ministry.
CITs are given a schedule that includes time to help the counselors and care for the campers, time to help the handyman, time to offer their hands to help teach swimming lessons or hold a board for a camper to nail during hand crafts, and time to help out in the kitchen, serving and cleaning up one meal each day. They have time before dinner to study God’s word together during CIT devotions. CITs are encouraged to give one evening devotion for the campers in their cabin. They are also responsible for being in the cabin at night and in the early morning when the counselor will have to leave for staff devotions or to take care of other things. Being a CIT is a demanding job, including hiking on irregular terrain, swimming, canoeing, leading active camp & sports games, and occasionally sleeping on the ground. The role of CIT is also very rewarding as you watch campers grow in their knowledge of God, His creation, and His love for them.
CITs volunteer for week-long sessions at camp and are encouraged to try to come to camp for 2 or 3 such sessions over the course of the summer season. CITs are given room & board but are required to pay the $25 weekly registration fee as part of the on-line camper registration process.

Many thanks to the stewarts holiday match and the WGY/curtis Lumber christmas wish campaigns
We are very grateful for multiple donations from the Christmas fundraisers sponsored by the Stewarts Co. and WGY+Curtis Lumber. These companies have provided funds for new mattresses, new dining room tables, a washing machine, and sports equipment. Here’s some great Camp Patt history and a sample of our appreciation to these companies via an interview with former Director Ricky Gerlach on WGY plus a photo of the new Gaga Pit mats in action.
